Belgian-French flair in Spain
In a cosy bistro atmosphere, we enjoyed a French cuisine that only those who enjoyed haute cuisine or like to cook with good ingredients themselves appreciate. From entering the restaurant through the inviting terrace to leaving, the dedicated, authentic service and cuisine embodies a Francophile flair. Elegant, French-Inspired Dining in the Heart of Marbella
Dinner at Zozoï in Marbella’s Old Town felt like stepping into a small corner of France under the Andalusian sky. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with a lively yet elegant atmosphere. The gentle murmur of guests mixed with the scent of butter and herbs drifting from the open kitchen created the perfect ambience for a refined evening. The meal began with warm, golden bread brushed with butter and served with a silky aioli that was simple yet divine. The Kalamata olives added a subtle, salty note that set the tone for generous and flavourful dishes with unmistakable French spirit. The highlight was the fish, cooked to perfection and bathed in a generous amount of butter. It was rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying; the kind of dish that makes you pause and smile. The purée was smooth and beautifully piped, crowned with a roasted cherry tomato, while the sides of spinach, carrots, and broccoli brought freshness and balance to the meal. The steak was equally impressive, tender and full of flavour, paired with crisp greens dressed in a creamy French-style sauce. The wine list was excellent, with refined choices such as Amarone della Valpolicella perfectly complementing the richness of the food. The service was warm, efficient, and attentive. We did not have to wait long for our dishes, which made the evening flow effortlessly. The value for money was excellent, especially considering the quality of the food, the portion sizes, and the beautiful setting.
